FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. Once you have an FTP account, you can upload, download, and manage files on your server using an FTP client such as Cyberduck or Filezilla. FTP accounts can also be referred to as FTP Users.
Here's how to set up an FTP account.
1) Go to the hostropics.com Client Area by pressing the login button at the top of the page or by visiting https://www.hostropics.com/panel/clientarea.php and log in:
2) Access cPanel in your account
3) From the cPanel, select FTP Accounts under the "Files" tab.
4) Fill out the fields under "Add FTP Account" then press the Create FTP Account button:
Login: Set the email address used to access the FTP account.
Password: Set the password that will be used to access the FTP account. A strong password is highly recommended. This password can be changed later on.
Enter the password again.
Directory: This will autofill based on the login that you've entered.
Quota: Tells cPanel to limit the amount of data that the new account can transmit. There's an option for an unlimited quota if desired.
Congratulations! You just created an FTP account. You will now be able to view the new account when you click on FTP Accounts under the "Files" tab in cPanel. You'll see a screen similar to the image below when you view your FTP accounts.
From here, you can change your password, change the quota for the account, delete the FTP account and configure FTP clients.
