It can be challenging to move a website to a new web host, if you have never done so.
Our goal at Hostropics is to make moving your website to our platform as simple as possible for you.
Manually Migrate From cPanel
Download a backup of your home directory from your old web host's cPanel:
cPanel -> Backup -> Download a Home Directory Backup
If your old host uses cPanel, it should look similar to this:

Using this command, your entire /home/ directory will be compressed into a .zip file and saved to your computer.
After that, you can restore it through your Hostropics cPanel account:
cPanel -> Backup -> Restore a Home Directory Backup

It may be necessary to uncompress the .zip file on your computer and upload it manually using FTP (a program such as Filezilla) if the file is too large.
Please be aware that if you intend to bring over any MySQL databases, you will also need to download them at your old web host:
cPanel -> Backup -> Download a MySQL Database Backup -> Click on the database
Your database will be compressed into a .sql.gz file and placed on your computer.
Then, you can access your Hostropics cPanel account and restore it as follows:
cPanel -> Backup -> Restore a MySQL Database Backup
Our support team may be able to assist you if the file is too large to be restored through the browser. Upload the file to your /home directory and contact us if the file cannot be restored.
You may also download and restore email forwards through cPanel in the same manner as you would a MySQL database.
