Hostropics makes it possible to use your new email address with your favorite email program, such as on your iPhone, Mac, Samsung Galaxy, Outlook, Windows Mail, and more. If you want to setup your new email address on any email program, you'll need to have some info. These are the most basic things you need to know:
-
Username
-
Password
-
Mail Server Name
Afterwards, you can set up an IMAP or POP address as well as enable secure ports for your email user.
There are many ways to configure the email account to suit your preferences, and this article will walk you through them.
This tutorial is for people who have set up a custom email address with their domain through Hostropics.
Locate Your Mail Server Name & Ports
1) Go to the hostropics.com Client Area by pressing the login button at the top of the page or by visiting https://www.hostropics.com/panel/clientarea.php and log in:
2) Once logged in to your account, access cPanel.
3) Scroll down and select Email Accounts from the "Email" tab.
4) Select Connect Devices next to the email that you would like to congifure.
In this example, we're finding the configuration info for hello@hostropics.us
5) Scroll down and you will find the info you need under Mail Client Manual Settings. You will see the following info:
-
Username
-
Password: This will be the password that you chose for your Webmail email address login.
-
Incoming Server Name: Will also show port numbers (IMAP is recommended). In our example, the incoming server is mail.hostropics.us
-
Outgoing Server Name: Will also show port number. In our example, the outgoing server is also mail.hostropics.us
If you would like this information emailed to a preferred email address, scroll down under Email Instructions, type in an email address, and click send. You will be sent an email containing all of the information for your specific mail server.
You will be asked to select IMAP or POP
- IMAP (Recommended): Messages that have been read/deleted/replied to will show up as such, both on the server and in the mail application.
- POP3: Does not coordinate with the server. Messages marked as read/deleted/replied to in the mail application will not show up as such on the server. This means that future mail downloads with POP3 will show all messages as unread. Emails may not be saved to the server and may only save to your configured email program.
- Outgoing mail is sent using SMTP.
